Graduate Teaching Assistantship 4-year funded PhD studentship



Applications are invited for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship in Financial Services situated within the School of Financial Services, Accounting and Law in Edinburgh Napier Business School.

The GTA award will cover tuition fees to Home/EU level and will provide a living allowance (stipend), currently £15,098 per annum. Overseas students are eligible to apply, but will be liable to pay the difference between home/EU and overseas fees. Note that fees are subject to change annually throughout the programme of study. The GTA is expected to start on 1st

October 2013.

The GTA will register as research student at the University. At the same time as studying for a PhD, the GTA holder will be required to complete the PG Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. The GTA holder will be required to carry out teaching duties as throughout the duration of the award. This is an exciting opportunity to study for a PhD at the same time as gaining a formal qualification, which will serve as the basis for a career in Higher Education.

Applicants should hold a first class or upper second class honours, or master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the area of study. Proposals should focus on some aspect of Financial Services, and in particular, Banking, Insurance or Financial Planning, or International Accounting. Evidence of work experience in these areas will be particularly welcome.
