EngD (Int) – Fundamental Formability Assessment and Simplified Testing to Enhance Robustness (FASTER)

Sponsor Company:  Jaguar Land Rover / High Value Manufacturing Catapult

Supervisor: Prof Richard Dashwood / Dr Iain Masters

This project is based on the need to improve the robustness of forming simulations which currently fail to predict forming problems in a small number of vehicle body components, typically two or three parts per vehicle programme. Such failures require extended try-out periods involving re-working of press-tools before they can be bought-off.
