The Dorothy Tutt Asbury Memorial Scholarship provides an annual scholarship to a graduating senior from Taft High School in Taft, Texas who shares Dorothy Tutt Asburys love for learning and service and who plans to continue his or her education at a two-year or four-year college or university or at a vocational or technical school.
Eligible students shall:
- Be graduating seniors from Taft High School in Taft, Texas;
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA (rigor of curriculum will be taken into consideration); and
- Show a spirit of loyalty and pride for the school community as well as a joy of service both at school and outside its walls.
These scholarships will be supplemental for students who have already earned academic scholarships. Students must submit a scholarship application on a form provided by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation along with a high school transcript.
Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis and disbursed in full in August. Scholarships will be made co-payable to the school and the student and directly mailed to the school.
The Scholarship is renewable for up to a total of four consecutive years, provided the student maintains a 2.75 GPA and is a full-time student.
