We welcome proposals for doctoral research in the field of social gerontology and with a particular emphasis on social relationships in later life. Possible areas of research could include:
- Ageing and care relationships
- Family relationships (especially under-researched areas including, sibling relationships and ageing; long-term partnerships; late life divorce;Â re-partnering; reconstituted families)
- Friendship and ageing
- Age friendly communities
- Care environments (e.g. care homes, extra care housing, alternative housing options).
Research will be supervised by: Dr Miriam Bernard, Professor of Social Gerontology and Dr Mo Ray, Senior Lecturer, Social Work.Â
Fees: UK/EU fee waiver for 3 years
Stipend: £13,726 per annum for 3 years (based on full-time study)
