Sheringham Museum/ MA Cultural Heritage & Museum Studies Internship

1 x Sheringham Museum/ MA Cultural Heritage & Museum Studies Internship

In partnership with The MO/Sheringham Museum, the Department of Art History and World Art Studies offers an internship as part of our MA Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies degree. The internship will provide a student with £10,000 towards fees and costs of living, as well as travel expenses to and from Sheringham. Funded by Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund, this internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn skills required for a career in the heritage sector.

Applicants who would like to be considered for the internship should demonstrate familiarity with the museum and heritage sector, and proven, team-based work skills. Short-listed candidates will normally have a strong academic record, a flexible and collaborative approach and experience working or volunteering in museums, although those looking for a change in career direction, who may bring transferable skills to the sector, will also be considered. Interest in maritime history and heritage is desirable but not essential.

The Intern undertakes a programme of workplace-based training as part of a team at The Mo/Sheringham Museum. Informal inquiries about the position at The Mo can be obtained from enquiries@sheringhammuseum.co.uk. For inquiries about the MA programme, please contact Dr Ferdinand de Jong: f.jong@uea.ac.uk

Eligibility: Home/EU/International students.

Method of application: Apply online. Please indicate on your application form that you wish to be considered for the Sheringham Museum/ MA Cultural Heritage & Museum Studies Internship. To be considered, applicants must first be offered a place on the MA in Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies, which requires an interview. Short-listing for the Internship takes place after all complete applications that meet the deadline have been considered.
