PhD Advert: Global Excellence Initiative Fund 4 studentships



The Graduate School at The Glasgow School of Art is offering 4 PhD studentships from its Global Excellence Initiative Fund for full time PhD study across the disciplines of Fine Art, Design and Architecture. Only Home and EU applicants are eligible for these studentships. PhD bursaries are for three years and have full tuition remittance. Applicants must have a strong academic background, with a degree in a relevant area at 2:1 or higher and normally have a Master’s degree qualification.

GSA has a distinctive specialist research culturewhich is widely recognised internationally. The generation of new knowledge and understanding through creative practice, scholarship and criticism in Fine Art, Design, Architecture and related fields is central to the concept of research. Our researchers include artists, designers, architects, historians and critics of world standing. The current Research and Knowledge Exchanges themes of excellence are:-

  • Education in Art, Design and Architecture
  • Digital Visualisation
  • Contemporary Art and Curating
  • Urbanism and the Public Sphere
  • Sustainability
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Design Innovation
  • Material Culture

We would be particularly interested to hear from candidates in the domain of Education in Art, Design and Architecture and in Digital Visualisation.
