The Fund was established in memory Gordon Matthew Robinson, who was a graduate of Truman High School in Independence, Missouri, a computer science major and member of Theta Xi-Alpha Psi chapter at Missouri University of Science and Technology when he tragically passed away in a car accident on his way home for Thanksgiving in 2009.
The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships to assist financially struggling Missouri residents who are computer science majors at a public four-year college or university in Missouri.
The students eligible for assistance shall be:
- Missouri residents;
- No older than twenty-one (21) years old when they apply;
- Enrolled in or planning to enroll full-time in a public four-year college or university in Missouri;
- Major in computer science; and
- Demonstrate financial need.
Preference will be given to graduating seniors and graduates from Truman High School in Independence, MO and to students attending Missouri University of Science and Technology. Scholarships may be awarded to students at other schools at the discretion of the Advisory Committee.
Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis and disbursed in two equal payments in August and January.
Scholarships may be renewed at the discretion of the Advisory Committee provided the recipient maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and meets the eligibility criteria stated above.
