Two Full-Time Psychology Scholarships

The Division of Psychology at NTU is one of the largest in the country with over 50 staff and over 30 postgraduate research students. Our work covers the full spectrum of applying theory to real world issues. We are seeking two outstanding candidates at either undergraduate or postgraduate level to go directly onto PhD study in areas of psychology that align with our staff interests.

The scholarships will pay the equivalent to Home/EU fees and provide a maintenance stipend (currently £13,590 for 2012/13) for up to three years. International students are welcome to apply (if successful, international students paying international fees will be expected to pay the difference between the Home/EU fee and international fee).

Applications are welcomed from undergraduates who have or are expected to have a first class BPS accredited degree and from postgraduates who have or are expected to have a distinction at Masters level in a psychological discipline. We aim to award one scholarship for applicants entering at undergraduate level and one scholarship at postgraduate level, depending on the strength of applications.

Please note that these scholarships are additional to the VC bursary scheme for which there are also psychology PhDs – click here for more information.

Candidates may apply to both schemes. Scholarships will commence no later than October 2013.

You must also include a research proposal of 1,000-2,000 words (including references) with your application. Candidates are encouraged to contact potential supervisors prior to submitting an application.
