ResM Studentship Opportunity ESF-CUC Research Programme



Exploration of sustainable family centred neonatal care in Cornwall.

We are seeking to award one ResM studentship to explore sustainable family centred care within neonatology, based in Cornwall. This studentship aims to identify and address issues related to sustainability, resource management and family centred care within the neonatal care environment. 

This studentship will involve undertaking research with the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT), the principal provider of acute care services in the county of Cornwall. The student would be resident in Cornwall and based academically for supervisory purposes in the Research Centre for Health and Social Care Innovation at Plymouth University.

The ESF-CUC Research Programme aims to build a strong cadre of research students and the capacity for sustainable, internationally recognised research in the Combined Universities of Cornwall (CUC) partner institutions. As part of this programme Plymouth University is offering scholarships of £3,500 for Home/EU students resident in Cornwall undertaking Research Masters with Cornish based businesses and organisations.

Entry requirements: Applicants should have a first degree (2:1 or above) in a health-related subject or social sciences, or related experience.  Experience of working within neonatal care is essential.

Research Masters (ResM) The ResM is a research degree and normally requires a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years (18 months study and 6 months writing-up) for full time mode of study, or can be completed in a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years (two years study and 12 months writing-up) in a part time mode of study.  Students studying for this award undertake a minimum of 2 x 20 credit modules in appropriate subject areas. Further information on ResM can be found on www1.plymouth.ac.uk/graduateschool.

Funding: This ESF-CUC ResM studentship includes a Scholarship of £3,500 for full-time study (tax free) for UK and EU nationals resident in Cornwall. This is payable in Year 1 only.
