Research Positions on Mechatronics, Metrology, or Control



New research positions (full-time paid, 40 hours/week) at either level have been created at the Automation and Control Institute (ACIN) of the Vienna University of Technology, due to substantial grants and projects from the European Union as well as national funding sources from the Austrian government.

Research associate (Post-Doc) salary in the range of 47.343 to 55.275 Euro/year
Research assistant (PhD student) salary in the range of 35.400 to 42.190 Euro/year

The involved research positions are related to precision motion systems and nano-metrology for applications in the high-tech industry and are focused on mechanical and mechatronic design, control and automation, and/or electro-magnetic actuation.

 

The starting date is planned as soon as possible, depending on the availability and preference of the successful candidate.

 

Requirements:
We are looking for candidates holding an MSc or PhD degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Cybernetics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent, preferably with a strong background in at least one area of scientific instrumentation, mechanical design, mechatronics, electro-magnetic actuation, precision engineering, measurement science, nano-metrology, electronics, adaptive optics, system engineering, or modeling and control of dynamic systems.
Good fundamentals, excellent grades, and interest in mathematics and physics are prerequisites. Motivation to pursue novel research in close collaboration with well-reputed international industry partners and research universities is essential. Thus good communication skills, fluency in English or German, and the willingness to work hard as member of a dynamic international research team are a must.

Conditions of employment:
The appointment will be for a period of up to four years.
