This EPSRC funded studentship in collaboration with AstraZeneca is only open to UK nationals and those of equivalent status* (fees paid, plus £13,726 per annum stipend) or EU Nationals (fees only, no stipend) due to funding restrictions. Availability is for 3.5 years beginning as soon as possible.
You will work in the group of Professor Martin Wills (http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/chemistry/research/wills/willsgroup ) at Warwick on the development of new organometallic reagents for the catalysis of organic reactions. You will synthesise and fully characterise a range of new iron and ruthenium-based complexes and characterise them using a range of techniques. Studies of their catalytic properties will also be undertaken.
Applicants must have a 2.1 or higher MChem or BSc degree or equivalent.

*Please note – ELIGIBILITY – Due to funding restrictions the stipend can only be offered to UK citizens or EU-citizens who have lived in the UK for over 3 years (e.g. as a student). EU-citizens not resident in the UK may not be paid a stipend, and only university course fees will be paid. Applicants from outside the EU are not eligible for this post due to restrictions on funding.
