PhD Studentship: Integrated Container Supply Chains

Applications are invited for one full-time, fully funded three-year PhD studentship within the Transport Research Institute. The studentship will cover tuition fees to home/EU level, and will provide a standard living allowance (stipend), currently £13,590 per annum. Overseas students are eligible to apply, but will be liable to pay the difference between home/EU and overseas fees. Note that fees are subject to change annually throughout the programme of study.

The studentship is expected to start on March 1st 2014.

Contributing to the wider EU-funded ENRICH project, this studentship will involve a focus on all aspects of China-Europe container supply chains, but further specialization will be encouraged.

Applicants must be highly motivated and must normally hold at least a first or second class honours degree, or equivalent. Candidates whose first language is not English must meet the University’s English language requirements. Given the nature of the area of research, the ability to speak and read Chinese (Putonghua) will be an advantage.
