PhD Studentship (1) Clinical Audiology, Speech and Language Research Centre



Applications are invited for a PhD studentship in the CASL Research Centre within the School of Health Sciences at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.  Applications are particularly welcome that address one of our three priority topics in the disciplines of phonetics and psycholinguistics for 2013, namely:

  • Clinical Remediation of Speech Disorder using EPG or Ultrasound Tongue Imaging
  • Measurement of Reaction Time through Articulatory Speech Analysis
  • Speech Intelligibility and Speech Variability in Parkinson’s Disease

Our research is aligned to the University’s Research Theme of “Speech and Communication”, and all applications should be relevant to our strategic goals in CASL, details of which are available on our website, along with links to current projects. Applications from qualified Speech and Language Therapists are welcome. The successful applicant will be working within a highly skilled team of subject experts in a world-class laboratory and will receive:

  • Full waiver of tuition fees
  • an annual stipend of £11,500 for 3 years
  • £2000 over the course of the project for research expenses and travel
