This PhD scholarship is in the applications of Artificial Intelligence to membrane proteins. The proposed new work will aim to create and build a new Artificial Intelligence tool to predict and analyze transmembrane proteins and signal peptides. The PhD student will be involved in computer programming to develop and integrate the current work at LondonMet into a website.

This is predominately a programming research project and you should have a strong first degree (2:1) or master degree in computing. A good knowledge of two (or more) of the followings are required: Java programming, R programming, Matlab, artificial intelligence (NN, GA, FL), web development, and some bioinformatics and biology.

£15,000 research grant is available to contribute towards tuition fees of the successful PhD student. Home/EU and International students can apply, but will need to pay the difference for the tuition fees. The applicant is also responsible for her/his cost of living. Full time and part-time applicants are both welcome.
