PhD General Scholarships

The School of Law has postgraduate research scholarships available from October 2014.  These scholarships are for the equivalent of full HEU fees and maintenance, providing a total of around £17,600* per annum (* estimate including Home/EU fees of £4,000).  Each scholarship is available for a period of one year initially, with the expectation of renewal for a further two years, subject to satisfactory performance in degree studies.  Students would normally be expected to have, or be currently undertaking, a Masters degree in Law or a related subject.

All applications are considered for all scholarships (except for the AHRC) and you do not need to make a separate application for funding. Scholarships are awarded, in addition to any other criteria listed on our website, on the grounds of academic merit. These scholarships are available in all areas of law in which the School is able to offer supervision.  We are particularly interested to receive applications in core subjects and areas of research supported by one of our research groups:

• The University’s Children and Childhood Network http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/children-and-childhood-network/postgraduate-network/index.aspx

• The Human Rights Law Centre http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/hrlc/index.aspx
