Natural Environmental Research Council (NERC) PhD Studentship : International Development

The School of International Development will be awarding one Natural Environmental Research Council (NERC) studentship starting in October 2013.

The NERC studentship is available to UK and EU residents: for UK residents awards consist of fees and maintenance; for EU residents awards are on a fees-only basis. Please refer to the NERC website for full details of eligibility:  www.nerc.ac.uk/funding/available/postgrad/eligibility.asp.

Applications are invited from suitable qualified graduates. Candidates should hold, or expect to hold, a minimum of at least a 2.1 (upper second class) undergraduate degree and preferably a Research Masters degree or equivalent. Candidates may be asked to participate in an interview, which could take place via telephone or Skype as part of the selection process.  EU and International applicants may be required to provide evidence of competence in the English Language.

To be considered for this award, you should make an application for admission to an MPhil/PhD in the normal manner, but you should indicate the intention to be considered for an open studentship under the Postgraduate Studentships Scheme.
