Staffordshire University is looking to appoint a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Associate* to manage an innovative and challenging new information system development project in partnership with Lister Trade Frames Ltd in Stoke-on-Trent.

About the company

Lister Trade Frames are a manufacturer and supplier of windows, doors, and conservatories for the building and construction trades, and of a building plastics range sold directly to the general public. Based in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, they have been operating for over thirty years, during which time they’ve won recognition as a ‘’Number One Fabricator’ for quality and customer service in both the 2005 and 2010 G-Awards and as environmentally-conscious innovators – winning the national 2009 Energy Efficiency Initiative Award.

About the role

Working in partnership with Staffordshire University, Lister Trade Frames are looking to recruit a high calibre recent graduate to lead a KTP (see below) project aiming to create a bespoke and state-of-the-art data analytics and management information IT platform at the company. Using the latest in distributed application and data management techniques and technologies, the new system will be designed to re-engineer the company’s internal processes and to drive its growth over the next five years. This project offers the opportunity and challenge of overseeing the entire system development cycle – from design and system specification through to development, testing, implementation and evaluation.

About the person

The successful applicant will have an excellent working knowledge of software development, information systems, data analysis and Web 2.0 application development and previous relevant industrial experience or commercial qualification would be an advantage. You should possess excellent project management skills and demonstrate a high level of proficiency in both verbal and written communication. A positive approach to collaborative team working is essential as is the ability to lead and motivate others.
