PTDF Scholarship No longer Available
According to the Executive Secretary of Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, Dr Bello Gusau, The PTDF scholarship has been disbanded and that plans are underway to replace it with suitable local programs.
The current scholarship arrangement which is disproportionately focused on Overseas Scholarship Scheme, was no longer sustainable and therefore, needed to be reversed, he added.
The presentation was made to the Vice Chancellors of Federal Universities in Nigeria to intimate them with the new strategic agenda that will govern the training and capacity building programmes of the Fund. He added that more Nigerian content will be explored to ensure that that qualified students can get the same training at the Nigerian Universities.
PTDF Scholarships has been offered to hundreds qualified Nigerian citizens annually to cover full expenses for Overseas and in-country MSc and PhD studies.
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources established by law for the purpose of developing and promoting petroleum technology and for creating the human resource needs of the oil and gas industry through research and training of Nigerians.
