The Richard J. Schmeelk Canada Fellowship was setup to assist students in Joint Degree programs(JD) at the University of Western Ontario Canada:

The  Richard J. Schmeelk Canada  entrance scholarship is a prestigious scholarship that provides up to $10,000 per academic term, up to a total of $40,000 to Francophone students who have been admitted to Western’s JD program .

The University of Western  is the only Ontario university In Canada (among four across the country) partnered with the Schmeelk Foundation for these generous fellowships:

Please note that :

The student must be  Francophone(A French-speaking person or nation may be referred to as Francophone in both English and French -Wikipedia)

Anglophone JD students who ultimately choose to pursue our joint-degree program with Laval University in Quebec are likewise eligible to apply for a Schmeelk Fellowship for their period of study at Laval, as Laval is also one of the four universities partnered with the Schmeelk Foundation.
