The University of Siena International Excellence Scholarship is a prestigious grant designed for international students seeking to pursue Master’s degree programs (Lauree Magistrali) in Italy. This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to enhancing the global appeal of its academic offerings by attracting outstanding students from around the world.
Successful candidates will receive a total award of €10,000, distributed over two years, to support expenses related to tuition, accommodation, and living costs.
This exclusive opportunity is open to non-Italian citizens who have obtained their entry qualifications from institutions outside Italy, emphasizing the University of Siena’s dedication to cultivating a diverse and internationally rich academic environment.

Eligibility Criteria for the Siena International Excellence Scholarship
To qualify for the Siena International Excellence Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Academic Qualification: Possess a non-Italian Bachelor's degree that is valid for admission into Master's degree programs (Lauree Magistrali) within the Italian university system.
- Citizenship: Must not hold Italian citizenship, except in cases of dual nationality where one citizenship is Italian.
- Residency: Must not be a resident of Italy. The following categories are considered residents:
- Non-EU citizens with a valid residence permit that allows university enrollment in Italy without requiring a new student visa (per Legislative Decree 286/1998).
- EU or EU-equivalent citizens (including those from Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino, and Switzerland) who have resided continuously in Italy for more than nine months.
- Program Application: Must have applied for one or two of the eligible Master's programs listed below via apply.unisi.it, adhering to all specified procedures and deadlines.
Both students currently awaiting application evaluation and those already accepted into one of the eligible programs (from the first or second intake) are welcome to apply.
Scholarship Benefits
For the 2024/2025 academic year, the University of Siena is offering four International Excellence Scholarships, each valued at €5,000 per year (gross), renewable for a second year—totaling €10,000 over two years.

The scholarship application is available within the program listing for the 2024/2025 academic year, specifically under the “Scholarship” section.
Only applicants who have already applied for admission to at least one of the eligible Master's programs will be considered for the scholarship.
