2026 ACU Vice Chancellor’s PhD Excellence Scholarship for International Students
The Australian Catholic University (ACU) is now inviting applications from qualified international students for the 2026 ACU Vice Chancellor’s PhD Excellence Scholarship. This fully funded scholarship supports outstanding international PhD candidates pursuing either a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Ministry degree.
The scholarship covers full tuition fees, Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and provides a living stipend of AUD $33,511 per annum (full-time) to support students throughout their research journey.

Eligibility Criteria for the 2026 ACU Vice Chancellor PhD Excellence Scholarship
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be classified as an international student for tuition fee purposes.
- Apply for a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Ministry program.
- Be enrolling in one of the following ACU faculties:
- Education and Arts
- Law and Business
- Health Sciences
- Theology and Philosophy
- Not be receiving any other ACU scholarship or award concurrently.
- Meet all requirements of enrolment and academic progress as outlined in ACU’s Higher Degree Research and Research Training Program Scholarship Policies.

Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive funding package, including:
- Annual stipend of AUD $33,511 (full-time), paid fortnightly for up to 3.5 years
- Full tuition fee coverage for up to 3.5 years
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for a single policy
- Relocation allowance of up to AUD $2,000 to support international students moving to Australia for their doctoral studies
How to Apply for the 2026 ACU Vice Chancellor’s PhD Excellence Scholarship
To apply:

- Apply for one of the eligible research programs (Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Ministry).
- All applicants for these research programs will automatically be considered for the Vice Chancellor’s PhD Excellence Scholarship—no separate scholarship application is required.
- Scholarship recipients will be selected through a competitive, merit-based process overseen by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) Scholarship Selection Committee.
