The Harvard Radcliffe Institute Fellowship is now accepting applications for its 2025–2026 academic year. This prestigious, fully funded one-year fellowship brings together 50 leading scholars, artists, and public intellectuals whose work has demonstrated excellence and significant potential for impact in their fields.
Hosted at Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute in the United States, the fellowship is designed to foster innovative research, creative exploration, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
About the Radcliffe Fellowship
Radcliffe Fellows are visionary thinkers—scientists, social scientists, humanists, writers, artists, and practitioners—who challenge conventions, develop new methodologies, and engage deeply with critical issues. Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility is based on discipline, as outlined below:
Humanities and Social Sciences

Must hold a PhD, MD, JD, or appropriate terminal degree earned before December 2023.

Must have published a monograph or at least two peer-reviewed journal articles or book chapters.
Science, Engineering, and Mathematics

Must hold a PhD in a relevant field, awarded before December 2023.

Must have published at least five articles in refereed journals (most successful applicants have significantly more).
Creative Arts (discipline-specific requirements):

Film & Video: Must have an independent body of work shown in galleries, festivals, or on TV.

Visual Arts: Minimum five years of professional experience, with multiple curated group shows and at least two solo exhibitions.

Fiction & Nonfiction: Must have either:

One or more published books, or
-
A signed book contract, or
-
At least three substantial published works (excluding newspaper articles).

Poetry: At least 20 published poems or a book of poetry within the last five years, and be actively working on a manuscript.

Journalism: At least five years of professional experience in the field.

Playwriting: A significant portfolio, including produced or optioned plays.

Music Composition: A doctoral degree is optional; applicants must show strong professional achievement and a record of recent performances.
