The Australian Government, through Charles Darwin University (CDU), offers full funding for international students via the RTP Scholarship to study in Australia. This scholarship covers full tuition fees and provides an annual stipend of $34,190 (tax-free) for full-time students. Funding is available for up to three years for doctoral degrees and two years for research Master’s degrees.
The CDU Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship is now open, presenting an excellent opportunity for both domestic and international students to pursue a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) in a dynamic and supportive academic environment. It enables Master’s and PhD candidates to advance their research at a leading Australian university.
All scholarships are awarded competitively. Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria and application process carefully.
Eligibility for the Charles Darwin University Scholarship 2026:
- Enrolled in an accredited HDR course at an Australian Higher Education Provider.
- Demonstrate outstanding research potential.
- Must not receive external income exceeding 75% of the RTP stipend while enrolled.
Scholarship Benefits:
- Tax-free stipend of AU$34,190 per year for full-time students (paid fortnightly).
- AU$17,095 per year (taxable) for part-time students (paid fortnightly).
- Funding duration: three years full-time for doctoral students; two years for research Master’s.
- Additional benefits: paid sick leave, maternity leave, and relocation allowance (up to $2,000 for domestic and $2,500 for international students).
