Sasol Mainstream Bursary Programme — Fully Funded STEM Bursaries for South African Students
The Sasol Mainstream Bursary Programme offers a fully funded opportunity for academically talented South African students pursuing full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Engineering and Science at public universities.
Beyond financial support, this programme provides developmental opportunities such as mentorship, leadership training, vacation work, and potential graduate employment with Sasol.

Undergraduate (BSc/BEng):

Geology (up to Honours)

Postgraduate (MSc, MEng, PhD):

Chemical Engineering (Thermodynamics, Reactor/Process/Fluid Modelling)

Chemistry (Catalysis, Environmental Science, Analytical Chemistry)

Cybersecurity & Data Science (aligned with Sasol’s strategy)
Eligibility Criteria
-
South African citizens under the age of 30
-
Full-time students at a South African public university (excludes UNISA)
-
First-year to final-year undergraduate students with strong academic results in STEM
-
Postgraduate students in fields aligned with Sasol’s research priorities
Note: No diplomas, hybrid, or distance-learning programs accepted
Selection Criteria

Academic merit (Matric results for Grade 12s, latest transcript for university students)

Field of study must align with Sasol’s business needs

Interviews and assessments

Commitment to community development and transformation will also be considered
