About the OGS & QEII-GSST Programs
The Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (QEII-GSST) promote academic excellence in graduate studies across all disciplines.
Both programs are jointly funded by the Government of Ontario (two-thirds) and the participating universities (one-third), making them a key part of graduate funding in the province.
Scholarship Value and Duration
The value of the OGS award depends on the number of terms you’re enrolled in during an academic year:

$10,000 for 2 consecutive terms

$15,000 for 3 consecutive terms
Each award is granted for:

A minimum of 1 academic year (2 or 3 consecutive terms)

A maximum of 2 years (up to 6 consecutive terms)
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the 2025/2026 Ontario Graduate Scholarship, applicants must:

Be enrolled (or planning to enroll) in full-time graduate studies at the Master’s or PhD level

Commit to a program that spans at least 2 terms (21–52 weeks) within the academic year

Be applying to or attending one of the participating Ontario universities

Meet academic merit criteria as determined by the university
