The Kochi University of Technology (KUT) in Japan is now accepting applications for its prestigious Special Scholarship Program (SSP) 2025. About the KUT Special Scholarship Program

Eligibility Criteria for KUT Scholarship 2025
To be considered for the KUT Special Scholarship Program, applicants must:
- Obtain prior approval from the leader of their preferred research project (from the SSP Project List)
- Hold (or be scheduled to obtain) a Master’s degree from a recognized institution (equivalent to 18 years of education)
- Be 35 years old or younger at the time of enrollment
- Demonstrate a strong academic background at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Show research readiness and interest aligned with the selected SSP project
- Provide proof of English proficiency:
- TOEFL iBT: 72+
- IELTS: 5.5+
- CEFR: B2
- CET6: Acceptable
Scholarship Benefits
The KUT SSP offers a full scholarship package including:
Tuition & Fee Waivers:
- Entrance exam fee (¥30,000)
- Enrollment fee (¥300,000)
- Annual tuition (¥535,800)
Monthly Research Stipend:
- ¥150,000/month to cover living expenses (subject to tax)
Relocation Support:
- One-time ¥150,000 grant for international students residing outside Japan to cover travel and initial living costs (must enter Japan under a “Student” visa status)
