Eligibility Criteria for the Rhodes Scholarship 2025

1. Nationality/Citizenship:
You may apply for the Global Rhodes Scholarship only if you're not eligible for any existing Rhodes constituency. If you have connections to a specific Rhodes region but don’t meet its criteria, consider applying via inter-jurisdictional consideration.
2. Age Requirement:
You must meet one of the following conditions:
- Aged 18–24 on 1 October 2025 (i.e., born between 2 October 2000 and 1 October 2007).
- For medical, dental, law, engineering, or similar programs: Aged 18–25 on 1 October 2025.
- If you completed your undergraduate degree later than usual: You must be under 27 on 1 October 2025 and have completed your first degree after 1 October 2024.
3. Academic Achievement:
- You must hold (or be on track to complete) a Bachelor’s degree before entry to Oxford.
- A First Class Honours degree or equivalent is strongly recommended due to Oxford’s competitive admission standards.
4. English Language Proficiency:
- Applicants must meet the Higher Level English language requirements of the University of Oxford.
- If English is your first language and you are a citizen and resident of a majority English-speaking country, this requirement may be waived.
Scholarship Duration and Coverage
The Rhodes Scholarship includes:
- University application fee
- Student visa and International Health Surcharge (IHS)
- Two economy flights (inbound and outbound)
