Ondo State Scholarship and Bursary 2025: Applications Now Open!
The Ondo State Scholarship Board, in partnership with the Ondo State Government, is excited to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 Scholarship and Bursary Awards for students in tertiary institutions. Eligible students of Ondo State origin stand a chance to receive up to ₦100,000 to support their educational pursuits in Nigerian universities.
As part of its mission to promote academic excellence and ease financial burdens, the Board invites applications for the 2024/2025 Academic Session across three categories: Scholarship Awards, Bursary Awards, and Financial Assistance.
This initiative is designed to empower Ondo State indigenes in higher institutions by providing vital financial support to help them succeed in their studies.
About the Ondo State Scholarship Board
Established on April 26, 2000, the Ondo State Scholarship Board serves as one of the key educational support agencies of the State Government.
Eligibility Criteria
For Scholarship Awards:
- Must be an indigene of Ondo State.
- Must be in 200 level (second year) or above in any course of study.
For university students:
- CGPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale OR 4.0 on a 5.0 scale.
For polytechnic students:
- Minimum CGPA of 3.0.
For Financial Assistance:
- Must be an Ondo State indigene.
- Must be:
- Enrolled in Nigerian Law Schools or undergoing medical clinical training, or
- A physically challenged student in any recognized Nigerian tertiary institution.
For Bursary Awards:
- Must be an indigene of Ondo State.
- Must be enrolled in any of the following institutions across Nigeria:
Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education, Schools of Nursing/Midwifery, or Colleges of Health Technology.
Benefits of the 2025 Awards
- Scholarship Award: ₦100,000 cash grant for eligible students.
- Bursary Award: ₦10,000 cash grant to support educational expenses.
- Special Financial Assistance: ₦50,000 annually for physically challenged students, Law School students, and medical students — regardless of academic grades.
