University of Birmingham: £10,000 West Africa Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarship
The University of Birmingham is delighted to offer the prestigious West Africa Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarship, valued at £10,000, to exceptional students from Nigeria and Ghana applying for a full-time postgraduate taught master’s programme beginning in September 2025.
Eligible Fields of Study:
- Arts and Law
- Engineering and Physical Sciences
- Life and Environmental Sciences
- Medicine and Health Sciences
- Social Sciences, including Education, Political Science, Development Studies, Sociology, and Social Work
Eligible Criteria
- Citizens of Nigeria or Ghana
- Holders of at least a Second Class Upper (2:1) in their undergraduate degree
- Applicants who have received an offer and paid the £3,000 deposit
Selection Criteria:
- Strong academic performance
- A compelling 250–300 word essay on “Why Birmingham”
- Application submitted through an official local representative
