2025 Auburn University Fully Funded Graduate Assistantship (USA)
Auburn University is currently accepting applications for its fully funded Graduate Assistantship Program for Master's and PhD students seeking to pursue advanced research in the United States of America.

The assistantship is open to students interested in conducting field, laboratory, and quantitative research focused on seasonal pathogen dynamics and bat health across various sites in Alabama, including highway culverts and natural habitats.
Research Focus
Graduate students will design their own research projects within the lab's broader scope, which includes:
- Investigating year-round changes in bat infections and co-infections
- Exploring seasonal immune responses in bats under various stressors (e.g., pathogens, contaminants, land use)
- Contributing to ecological and conservation science in the southeastern U.S.
Students will have opportunities to:
- Conduct field sampling and wildlife data collection
- Perform lab analyses using molecular assays and microscopy
- Use statistical software (especially R) for quantitative analysis
- Present findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
A PhD applicant is preferred, but outstanding Master’s applicants are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Eligibility Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Wildlife Science, or a related field
- Demonstrate motivation, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills
- Be capable of working independently and collaboratively
- Be eligible for admission into:
- Possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Priority may be given to candidates with:
- An MS degree (for PhD applicants)
- Experience handling wildlife or bats
- Fieldwork and biological sampling experience
- Laboratory and technical skills
- Strong quantitative and statistical analysis background
- Proven research experience and/or academic publications

PhD Students: $26,500 annual stipend + benefits
MS Students: $23,500 annual stipend + benefits
Graduate Assistant Responsibilities
Selected graduate students will:
- Conduct literature reviews and manage datasets
- Collect and analyze both field and lab data
- Perform molecular and microscopy lab work
- Use R for statistical modeling and data visualization
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals
- Supervise undergraduate assistants as needed
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Present at academic conferences
