Malaysia International Scholarships (MIS) 2025/26 – Fully Funded Postgraduate Study in Malaysia

The Malaysia International Scholarships (MIS) 2025/26 are now open for applications from qualified international candidates interested in pursuing postgraduate studies in Malaysia. This fully-funded initiative by the Government of Malaysia aims to attract outstanding global talent to study at leading Malaysian universities.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS), applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be a graduate from an eligible MIS-recipient country.
Intend to pursue full-time postgraduate studies (Master’s or PhD) in Malaysia OR currently be enrolled in full-time postgraduate studies at a public or selected private higher education institution in Malaysia.
Age limit:

Master’s applicants: not more than 40 years old at the time of application.
PhD applicants: not more than 45 years old.

Academic and Language Requirements

Master’s applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least a CGPA of 3.0 or a Second Class Upper Honours.
PhD applicants must have excellent academic performance in a relevant Master’s program (minimum CGPA of 3.0).
English proficiency is mandatory through one of the following:

IELTS with a minimum band score of 6.0, or
TOEFL PBT with a minimum score of 550, or
Proof that previous degree(s) were completed in English (documentation required).

Full coverage of tuition fees
Monthly living allowance of RM 1,500 (approximately USD 4,036 per year)

All required documents must be scanned and saved in PDF format for online submission. These include:

Completed Application Form
Certified copy of passport (valid for at least 6 months)
Academic transcripts (Bachelor’s for Master’s applicants; Master’s and Bachelor’s for PhD applicants)

Transcripts should show all courses and grades
Include a grading system explanation from the issuing institution if the transcript lacks CGPA or grading scale
