The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships to graduating seniors who will continue their education at a two-year or four-year college or technical school.
The students eligible for assistance must be graduating high school seniors who have already earned a scholarship for education or athletics and who will continue their education at a two-year or four-year college or technical school. Consideration will be given to financial need and the students work and community service record. Students must attend class and maintain a 2.0 GPA to be eligible and continue eligibility. Applications are accepted year round with a formal award made annually in May. Students must submit a scholarship application on a form provided by Greater Horizons.
One-time scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis and paid in two equal installments in August and January. Scholarship payments will be made co-payable to the school and student and mailed to the school. The second installment is contingent upon proof of the student continuing to attend class and maintaining a 2.0 GPA.
