A numbers of scholarships are offered by Universities around the world. In this article, we will be looking at the Scholarships offered by University of Guelph Ontario, Canada.

University of Guelph is one of the premier universities in Canada situated in Western Ontario.  The university offer a range of scholarships to help students in need most especially scholarships for International students. Usually international students have limited opportunities due to residence status but   students can carefully plan their studies to navigate through the high tuition fees. The following are a number of Scholarships that students can apply:

Graduate students Awards

International students can check the office of Intercultural affairs to ask for Bursary opportunities or the financial aids office at the student affairs. Bursaries are usually limited for international students. However, students should apply for all awards that do not indicate specifically that they are for international students.

There are a number of Entrance Awards for students in the first year of Masters degree Programs example Bullick Scholarship in Food Grain Research worth up to $10,000 covering three semesters.

The Dean’s Scholarship offers up to $20,000 to Masters and Phd students in high academic standing. No application is necessary. Students are automatically considered

Undergraduate students’ awards

Ontario First generation scholarships

The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities has established the Ontario First Generation Student Bursary as part of

their Access to Opportunities Strategy. These bursaries provide direct support to students with demonstrated financial need

who are in the first in their families to attend university or college.

Undergraduate Research Assistantship

This scholarship is designed to help students  gain research experience, work with faculty, and further their insight into their field of studies while earning at least $5,740 (based on current minimum wage rate of $10.25/hour, effective June 1, 2014, minimum wage increases to $11.00/hour) plus 4% vacation pay.
