The project:? We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious veterinary graduate who holds or is eligible to hold Membership of the RCVS to take up this four year training programme in Research and Small Animal Surgery at Bristol Veterinary School.
Applicants will have at least two years’ relevant post-graduation experience, and have completed a rotating internship programme. This position is a four year position. Successful applicants will enrol for a Masters in Research in the first year, and submit the dissertation at the end of the first year. They will then enrol with the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) as a Senior Clinical Training Scholar in Small Animal Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery with a view to submitting credentials to sit the Diploma examination following completion of the three-year surgical training programme.?
The Masters by Research topic is on feline bone disease and will be supervised by Dr John Tarlton and Prof Sorrel Langley-Hobbs.
All clinical scholars assist with providing the clinical service in the hospital, the first opinion practice and also with the practical tuition of veterinary and veterinary nurse undergraduates.
This post is available from 1 May 2014, and is tenable for four years, subject to satisfactory annual review of progress.
Funding:? Starting stipend (tax free): ?17,220 per annum, plus a training/CPD allowance.?Out of hours duties (usually 1 in 3) attract an additional stipend. Shared single accommodation may be available to rent.?
