Catalonia Quantum Academy (CQA) Masters Scholarships 2025
The Catalonia Quantum Academy (CQA) invites qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the CQA Masters Scholarships 2025. These scholarships cover one year of full matriculation fees (60 ECTS) for eligible master’s programs beginning in September 2025.
The initiative is designed to attract and train the next generation of quantum scientists and engineers, bolstering the region’s ability to lead in current and emerging quantum technologies.
CQA is part of the Quantica Mediterranean Valley of Quantum Science and Technologies, a collaborative platform committed to advancing education, training, and professional development in Quantum Science and Technology (QST).
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the CQA Masters Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
- Be enrolled or in the process of enrolling in an eligible master’s program starting in September 2025.
- Independently apply for admission to the relevant master’s program and meet all associated academic and visa requirements.
- Demonstrate academic excellence and strong potential, based on academic records and personal achievements.
- Have no nationality or citizenship restrictions.
- Possess a high level of English proficiency.
Scholarship Benefits
- Full coverage of matriculation fees for one academic year (60 ECTS).
- Payment of fees will be made directly to the host university by ICFO on behalf of the CQA.
- Recipients will benefit from being part of a prestigious regional network in quantum science and engineering.
Required Application Documents
Applicants must prepare and submit the following:
- Motivation Letter: Clearly stating the master’s program(s) applied to, as well as planned courses, internships, or research projects related to quantum science and technology.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): In English, including full contact information.
- Academic Transcripts: Scanned copies in English or Spanish.
- One Referee Contact: Provide a valid email address of a reference.

Scholarships are available for students entering any of the following programs:
- Master in Quantum Science and Technologies (UB, UAB, UPC)
- Master in Photonics (UPC, UB, UAB)
- Master in Engineering Physics (UPC)
- Master in Cybersecurity (UPC)
- Master in Advanced Telecommunication Technologies (UPC)
- Master in Telecommunications Engineering (UPC)
Application Process (Step-by-Step)
- Apply to an eligible master’s program listed above.
- Prepare and submit the required documents for the scholarship.
- Submit your scholarship application through the CQA application portal.
Scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, with applications reviewed and evaluated monthly.
Selected candidates will be notified of results before the end of the following month after each review cycle.
Scholarships will only be awarded to candidates who have confirmed admission into an eligible master’s program.
