Technology Directorate (TD)
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Research Software Engineer within the Technology Directorate’s Computational Biology Facility. You should have a PhD in a relevant field for example: computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology or biostatistics, or an undergraduate/masters degree in a relevant field with substantial experience of developing software in industry. You will be involved with a wide range of research software and analysis projects supporting both academic and industrial researchers. You will be primarily tasked with building software pipelines for data analysis, graphical user interfaces (desktop and web) and databases, in general related to large scale biological or biomedical data sets, such as those produced from “omics” techniques (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics). There may also be an opportunity to participate in data analytics projects, depending on background and skills. The post is available until 30 April 2018.
