BBSRC DRINC Grant ‘Improved glycaemic response and attenuated post-prandial sugar-induced endothelial dysfunction by polyphenol-rich foods’

Applications are invited for a full-time Research Assistant to join the group of Professor Gary Williamson, Professor of Functional Food based in the School of Food Science and Nutrition.

The University of Leeds is one of the leading Universities in the UK and the School of Food Science and Nutrition is the most highly rated in food in the UK. The research group of Professor Gary Williamson focuses on dietary polyphenols and phenolic acids in foods, including their metabolism and health benefits against cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

The post is part of a BBSRC DRINC grant to Prof Williamson entitled “Improved glycaemic response and attenuated post-prandial sugar-induced endothelial dysfunction by polyphenol-rich foods”.

You should possess a PhD in Food Science and/or Nutrition along with relevant experience in human intervention studies with a high level of technical competence in biochemistry and biomarker measurement.
