Full time, fixed term for 3 years

The College wishes to appoint a highly qualified individual to the position of a Postdoctoral Research Fellow for the research into Immunopathology and treatment of intestinal inflammation with a primary focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

The project will focus on Immunology, Microbiology and mucosal abnormalities in IBD and cross link with genetic functions. The post holder will work within an immunology laboratory on T lymphocoytes from patients with IBD. They will have the opportunity to develop research into this area and contribute to analysing data. There will be an opportunity to contribute to licensing or spin out deals with demonstrated commercial success.

The appointed individual will have a PhD relevant to the research area. Experience in gastroenterology. Experience of Flow Cytometry, cell culture, PCR array and Western blotting. The applicant must have excellent academic qualifications, communication skills and good teamwork skills.

Starting salary is normally in the range £28,982 to £37,768.
