Post-doctoral position in the Social Network Analysis Research (SoNAR) Center The Social Network Analysis Research (SoNAR) Center has an immediate opening for a post-doctoral researcher in a two-year research project on the development and implementation of relational event models for the analysis of bipartite processes.

The models will be tested in the context of data on organizational problem-solving activities.

The project is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation and is directed by Professor Alessandro Lomi. Successful candidates will have recently completed their PhD in social network analysis, network science, quantitative social science (including but not limited to economics), management or in statistics and related fields with an emphasis on data analysis.

Teaching experience is not necessary for this post. An interest in developing teaching material and support teaching activities will be considered an advantage Applicant should be able to demonstrate:

(1) Strong quantitative skills; (2) Strong scientific writing and communication skills in English;

(3) A track record of publications consistent with their academic experience and ambitions;

(4) A strong commitment to an academic career, and

(5) A strong research agenda The successful candidate will join the Interdisciplinary Institute of Data Science, the most recent research institute created at the University of Italian Switzerland, and be an active member of the Social Network Analysis Research (SoNAR) center.

 

Other conditions being equal, candidates with knowledge of at least one of the Swiss national languages will be favored. The successful candidate will be required to take residence in Canton Ticino – the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland.
