Geelong, Australia.

This generously-funded PhD studentship ($30K p.a.) is open to all nationalities. Availability is for 3.5 years, starting as soon as possible in 2014.

You will be working in the research group led by Assoc. Prof. Tiffany Walsh (www.deakin.edu.au/contact/staff-profile/?pid=3173), investigating the structures and properties of the interface between polymers and carbon-fibre surfaces, using a range of molecular simulation approaches. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to learn state-of-the-art simulation techniques, as well as get involved with high-performance computing. This project will involve extensive collaboration with CSIRO, industry, and overseas research groups.

Applicants should have (or be about to receive) an honours degree (at least II.1 or equivalent) in chemistry, physics or materials science.
