Institute of Petroleum Engineering is looking for a PhD student to work in the area of modelling and evaluation of oil and gas wells and fields. The studentship is available to UK/EU/Overseas candidates. It includes fees and an appropriate stipend for three years. The Institute is committed to equality of opportunity.
Applicants will typically already be in possession of a postgraduate degree in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or Engineering. Required Petroleum Engineering training courses will be provided to complement the successful applicantâs previous experience. Good understanding of the fluid flow in reservoirs, optimisation principles, and programming skills are also welcome.
The successful candidate will be involved in development of methodologies for the:
- Real-time monitoring and control,
- Modelling and performance analysis, and
- Optimisation and evaluation of advanced wells and fields.
