PhD positions are available in the research group of Professor M.J. Rosseinsky FRS (see profile). Illustrative project area is given below:
You will prepare new complex transition metal oxides and measure their structures and magnetic and electrical properties, targeting the combination of ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism for information storage.
The stipend is at the standard EPSRC rate (£13,590).
Candidates will have at least an upper second class honours degree in chemistry, physics, or materials science.All the projects take place in a large interdisciplinary group with extensive international collaborations and involve close interaction between synthesis, measurement and computation.
