PhD positions in Materials Chemistry New Porous Materials for Catalysis and Separations

£13,590 pa (Stipend)

PhD positions are available in the research group of Professor M.J. Rosseinsky FRS (http://www.liv.ac.uk/chemistry/staff/matthew-rosseinsky/). Illustrative project area is given below:

You will design and synthesise new open-framework materials which are molecule-based (metal-organic frameworks or crystalline extended organic networks) and evaluate them for important separation and catalysis processes.

The stipend is at the standard EPSRC rate (£13,590).  Candidates will have at least an upper second class honours degree in chemistry, physics, or materials science.  All the projects take place in a large interdisciplinary group with extensive international collaborations and involve close interaction between synthesis, measurement and computation.
