Ph.D. in Economics

The EUI (European University Institute) Economics department generates top-class researchers and mostly of them pursue successful academic or professional careers in leading universities or other research-oriented organizations.

The ECO department offers course-based training in the areas of microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics.

The research consists in a four-year programme, where doctoral candidates have regular opportunities to present and discuss their research. The faculty covers a broad range of interests, so prospective researchers can supervise dissertations on a wide variety of topics within the three core areas. Before applying  for the Ph.D. in Economics you are invited to explore whether your interests fit with those supported by the ECO faculty.
