MSc Transport Planning/Engineering

The part-time mode of these vocational Masters programmes is designed primarily for those already working in the transport or related sectors, who wish to progress to the next stage in their career. The programmes engage students with highly applied and practical study, which is both academically rigorous and vocationally rewarding.

Accreditation The programmes are recognised by the leading professional bodies in the transport sector. They are approved as further learning for holders of accredited degrees seeking Chartered Engineer (CEng) status via the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Institution of Highways and Transportation (IHT), and fulfill the educational requirements for membership of Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport (CILT UK). They also provide a pathway to the Transport Planning Professional (TPP) qualification.

Admission requirements Applicants should have a good honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline. Those with professional qualifications plus experience in the sector are encouraged to apply, and all applications are considered on an individual basis.

Duration (part-time study mode) The programmes are available either as full-time or part-time study. The part-time mode offers flexible attendance of one day per week over 2-3 years duration. Shorter Postgraduate Diploma and Certificate programmes are also available on a part-time basis. All programmes commence in September.
