Bursary available for the MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics (SRMS) at the University of Manchester.

The SRMS MSc course provides a firm grounding in advanced quantitative research methods, taught within an applied social science framework. It includes training in: research design, qualitative research methods, survey research, statistical modelling, longitudinal data analysis, structural equation modeling, demographic methods and social network analysis

The MSc also includes training in statistical analysis software such as SPSS, R, MLwiN and Stata. Students are also able to take a wide range of other professional skills training during their time at The University of Manchester.

The course attracts students from across the world, many of whom go on to funded PhD studies and careers in social research.

There is a need for well-trained social scientists who are able to apply advanced methods of analysis to complex data. Graduates from the MSc have gone on to pursue careers in research and policy-making within academia, government departments, local government, national statistical institutes and research organizations both in the UK and abroad.

The MSc is recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

The course is available full-time over one year or part-time over two-years.
