MPhil in Chemical Engineering Scale up of Air Filled Emulsion Production

Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham has a MPhil position available and is seeking a Scientist/Engineer qualified to 1st degree level.  The project is a collaborative effort between the University, Campden BRI and Rich Products Ltd.  This position is funded by industry along with the Technology Strategy Board and has the University tuition fees and a stipend included.

Air Filled Emulsions are currently being used to produce prototype low fat foods.  This project will examine the engineering principles behind the scale up of their production from the laboratory to a pilot scale process.

Applicants should possess a relevant degree, B Eng / B Sc (Hons) 2:2 or above, in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Biochemistry. Some exposure to or knowledge of protein structure and function would be a distinct advantage.

The studentship is fixed term for 1 year.

Due to funding restrictions we can only take Home/EU applications.
