A PhD scholarship is available at the School of Engineering andMathematical Sciences to develop numerical models for predicting theresponses of steel and composite structures under extremeloadings.

The scholarship covers tuition fee and offers a stipend of$26,288 per annum up to three years.

Eligibility:

1. Hold aMaster degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a GPA not less than80

2. Meet English requirements: Ielts=6.5 with each band greaterthan 6.0

Candidates with experience in one of the following areaswill have an advantage

i. nonlinear analysis of steel and compositestructures

ii. computational methods such as FEM, X-FEM,IGA

iii. FE simulation using Abaqus or Ls-dyna

iv. programmingskills with Matlab and Fortran
