Marie Curie PhD Scholarship Position



Applications are invited from candidates who possess the necessary qualifications in order to fill a full-time 3-year Ph.D. Marie Curie PhD Scholarship Position within the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics. PhD (early stage researcher) position as part of the Marie Curie ITN project TRIPOD (Training and Research involving Polymer Optical Devices) ESR4 “Polymer fiber grating fabrication using short pulse lasers”.

The project is located in the field of optical fibre sensors – an area where Europe has developed internationally competitive research and commercial activity. For more details please see www.cut.ac.cy/eecei/vacancies 

The early stage researcher will be employed on a 3 year (36 months) contract,  at an annual gross salary equivalent to €28.783,68 (€2398,64 monthly gross salary – employee contributions to the Cyprus government funds will be deducted from this amount). In addition the fellow will receive monthly mobility allowance of €711,45.

  • A letter motivating the application (cover letter) – 2 copies.
  • Complete Curriculum Vitae included contact details – 2 copies.
  • Grade transcripts and BSc/MSc diploma – 2 copies.
  • Copies of their most representative publications (if applicable) – 2 copies.
  • The names and contact information of two referees – 2 copies.

Applications must be submitted in a closed envelope marked as “Application for Marie Curie Research Fellow Positions – Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Informatics/Nanophotonics Research Laboratory” at the premises of the Cyprus University of Technology, Human Resource Department, Limassol Savings Co-operative Bank Building, 4th Floor, Arch. Kyprianos 31, 3036 Limassol or must be sent via registered post (P.O. Box 50329, CY-3603 Limassol) with a clearly visible post office stamp of a date not later than 31st October 2013, 14:00 p.m. which is the deadline for the submission of the applications.
