ESRC North West Doctoral Training Centre studentships



The NWDTC studentship competition for September 2014 entry is now open.

The deadline for applications to be sent to nwdtc@liverpool.ac.uk is 5pm GMT on 3 February 2014.

Please do not submit your studentship application directly to the School of Environment, Education and Development.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold an offer from the School of a place on one of the following PhD programmes:

  • PhD Development Policy and Management
  • PhD Human Geography

Studentship applications will be accepted from students who have submitted their postgraduate research application to the School, but have yet to receive a formal offer, provided that such an offer has been made in time for the Studentship Allocation meeting.

Academic Eligibility

Candidates for all awards should hold a good Bachelor degree at First or Upper Second Class Honours (or international equivalent).  Candidates for the +3 and +4 studentships should also hold a Master degree at Merit or Distinction (or international equivalent).

Residential Eligibility

Applicants should have been ordinarily resident in the UK for three years preceding the application (not for the purposes of full time education).  EU students who have not been ordinarily resident in the UK for the last three years may apply for a fees only award.
